Does a van collision repair need a scan and recalibration?
On any van equipped with driver assistance, yes, and it is a required step rather than an optional one. The cameras and radar units that run lane keeping, adaptive cruise and emergency braking are mounted in the front and side areas that take collision damage, and a sensor that is off by a fraction of a degree gives incorrect input. We scan before and after and recalibrate to specification.
