RV, Van and Fleet Collision Repair Serving Long Beach
About 10 min left
OCRV Center repairs collision damage on motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, Sprinter vans, cargo vans, box trucks and municipal fleet vehicles at a 35,000 square foot facility in Yorba Linda, roughly 35 minutes from Long Beach by way of the I-405 and CA-91. Repairs run from $1,000 for a single panel to $150,000 or more for a full structural rebuild, billed direct to every major carrier.
A collision on a 40 foot diesel pusher is not a scaled up version of a collision on a sedan. The sidewall is a laminated sandwich, not a stamped steel panel. The roof is a membrane bonded to plywood. The chassis underneath is a purpose built rail frame that carries loads a passenger car frame was never designed for. When something hits it, the damage travels in ways a general auto body shop will not think to look for.
That difference is the entire reason this shop exists. We tear down far enough to see what actually moved, we measure the structure against factory specification before anything gets pulled, and we document the whole thing so the carrier is looking at evidence instead of an opinion.
Long Beach owners come to us across the I-405 and CA-91 corridor because the work happens here, under one roof, on our own frame rack and in our own paint booth. Nothing gets subcontracted out to a shop we cannot walk into.
What Collision Damage Actually Looks Like on a Recreational Vehicle
Impact energy on a coach dissipates differently than it does on a unibody car. A corner strike at 15 miles per hour can leave the fiberglass cap looking almost intact while the cage behind it has shifted a quarter inch. That shift is what later shows up as a slide that will not seal, a door that binds in the morning and swings free by afternoon, and a persistent leak nobody can find.
We check for those secondary symptoms during teardown, not after you have already paid for the repair and driven away. Doors get operated through the full range. Slides get run in and out under power with the seals watched. Roof seams get probed where the impact energy would have traveled.
Skin Damage Versus Structural Damage
Skin damage stops at the outer layer. The fiberglass or aluminum is torn or crushed, the substrate behind it is intact, and the repair is a bonded patch or a panel section. Structural damage means the load path moved, and no amount of filler will put it back.
The distinction matters financially because insurers price them very differently, and it matters practically because a coach with a moved load path will keep generating new problems for as long as you own it.
Hidden Damage and the Supplement
Most collision estimates written from photographs are wrong, and they are wrong in a predictable direction. The adjuster prices what is visible. Teardown then finds the rest.
That gap is normal and expected, and it is handled through a supplement. We photograph every hidden item as it is uncovered, tie it to the original impact, and submit it with supporting documentation rather than a phone call.
Our Teardown and Measurement Process
Nothing gets an authorized estimate until it has been apart. We remove trim, interior panels and any component blocking the view of the structure behind the impact, then photograph the whole area before a single repair decision is made.
Structural measurement happens against factory specification points. On a chassis with published dimensions we pull to those numbers. On a coach body we work from symmetry against the undamaged side, which is the accepted method when the manufacturer never published body dimensions in the first place.
Minor, Major and Full Restoration Work
Minor collision work covers a single panel or cap section with no structural involvement, typically finishing in the $1,000 to $6,000 range. Major collision work involves multiple panels, a cap replacement or structural pulls, and generally runs $6,000 to $45,000.
Full restoration is what happens after a rollover, a jackknife or a fire adjacent event. Those projects run from $45,000 into six figures and take months, because the coach is stripped to structure and rebuilt outward. We take them because we have the square footage to keep a vehicle indoors for that long without blocking the production floor.
Why All Work Stays In Shop
We do not offer mobile, roadside or fleet route service, and that is deliberate rather than a limitation. Structural pulls need a frame rack anchored to a concrete floor. Refinish work needs a downdraft booth to meet both the finish standard and California air quality rules. Electrical diagnostics need shop power and a scan tool that is not running off an inverter in a parking lot.
Everything happens at the Yorba Linda facility because that is where the equipment is. Long Beach customers drive out once, and the vehicle stays until it is right.

Teardown
Trim, panels and blocking components removed so the structure behind the impact is fully visible before any repair decision.
- 3
Measurement and Estimate
Structure measured against specification, complete estimate written from what is actually there rather than from photographs.

Pulls performed on the rack, panels sectioned or replaced, substrate and laminate rebuilt to original thickness and bond.
- 6
Refinish
Sealed, primed, blocked and sprayed in our booth with color verified against an adjacent undamaged panel under corrected light.
- 7
Quality Control and Delivery
Multi point inspection, systems operation test, post repair scan where applicable, then a walkthrough with you before keys change hands.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does RV collision repair usually take?
A single panel repair with refinish typically takes one to two weeks. Multi panel work with a cap replacement runs four to eight weeks. Structural repairs requiring frame pulls and interior rebuild commonly run eight to sixteen weeks. The two variables that move those numbers most are carrier approval speed and parts availability, and coach specific components from a manufacturer that has since discontinued the model are the single most common source of delay.
Do you work directly with my insurance company?
Yes. We bill direct to Progressive, GEICO, State Farm, AAA SoCal, Mercury, Allstate, American Family, Wawanesa, National General, CSAA, Foremost, Liberty Mutual, Tesla, Cincinnati and others. You are not asked to pay the repair total and chase reimbursement. Insurance billed work may be written at carrier negotiated labor rates that differ from our posted retail rates, and we will tell you when that applies to your job.
Can I choose OCRV Center if my insurer recommends a different shop?
In California you have the legal right to select your own repair facility. A carrier can recommend a shop from its network, but it cannot require you to use one. If your adjuster pushes back, tell them you are exercising your right to choose, and give them our shop information. We handle the rest of the conversation directly with them.
What happens if the damage is worse than the original estimate?
That is the normal outcome, not an exception. Estimates written before teardown are based on what is visible, and teardown almost always finds more. We photograph each hidden item as it is uncovered, tie it to the original impact, and submit a supplement with that documentation. Work does not proceed on supplemental items until the carrier approves them, so your out of pocket exposure does not change without your knowledge.
