Why Long Beach Sends Us the Hard Jobs
OCRV Center performs collision, structural, paint, fiberglass, roof, slide, interior and systems work on one 35,000 square foot site, with its own frame rack and downdraft booth. That combination is uncommon: general body shops lack the equipment for large vehicles, and dealer service departments typically subcontract collision and paint work out.

Everything Under One Roof
The single most common story we hear is a coach that visited three facilities. The body shop handled the panel, could not touch the water damage and would not go near the slide. The RV shop handled the slide and sent the paint out. Nobody owned the timeline and each one blamed the others for the delay.
That is not a story about bad shops. It is a story about a vehicle that needs four trades and a market where almost nobody has all four. Our advantage is not that any single discipline is performed better here. It is that the coordination problem does not exist.
How We Compare
| Capability | OCRV Center | General Body Shop | RV Dealer Service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frame rack sized for a 40 foot coach | Yes, anchored, in shop | Usually passenger vehicle only | Typically subcontracted out |
| Downdraft booth large enough for a Class A | Yes, in shop | Rarely | Typically subcontracted out |
| Fiberglass and laminate structural repair | Core capability | Generally declined | Varies widely |
| RV systems: electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC | In house | Not offered | In house |
| Fabrication for discontinued parts | In house | Not offered | Rarely |
| Insurance supplement documentation | Photographed during teardown, submitted with evidence | Varies | Varies |
| Commercial truck and municipal fleet work | Yes | Sometimes | No |
| Posted labor rates published openly | Yes | Rarely | Rarely |
Documentation as Standard, Not on Request
Every hidden damage item is photographed as it is uncovered during teardown, with a written statement of why it is loss related. Structural work gets before and after dimensional records. Water intrusion work gets moisture readings mapped across a grid.
That documentation exists because it is what gets an insurance supplement approved rather than argued, and because it is what a fleet manager or a municipal procurement office needs for the file. It is not an upsell and it is not something you have to ask for.
Honest Scope Boundaries
We state plainly what we do not do. That list is engine, drivetrain and transmission work, DOT and state inspections, boom and hydraulic certification, and any form of mobile or roadside service.
Shops that accept everything and figure it out later cost customers time they cannot recover. If your vehicle needs something outside our scope we will tell you during the estimate rather than after it is disassembled in our building.
Questions
What makes OCRV Center different from a regular auto body shop?
Equipment and scope. A general body shop is built around passenger vehicles, which means the frame rack, the booth and the technician experience are all sized for cars. A 40 foot coach with a laminated sidewall, a rubber roof, a slide mechanism and a 12 volt house system is a different vehicle in every meaningful way. Most general shops decline this work, and the ones that accept it usually subcontract the parts they cannot do.
Why not just use an RV dealer service department?
Dealers are frequently excellent at systems work and frequently send collision, structural and paint work to a subcontractor. That is not a criticism, it is a business model, but it means your coach ends up at a facility the dealer chose and you never see. Everything we do happens in one building on our own equipment, which means one party is accountable for the result.
Do you actually handle every kind of vehicle you list?
Yes, and the list is long because these vehicles share more than most people assume. A fifth wheel and a box truck both need a frame rack. A motorhome and a food truck both need electrical diagnostics alongside body work. We publish 33 vehicle types and 35 services because that is what walks through the door, not because it reads well.
Will you tell me if a repair is not worth doing?
Yes, and it happens regularly. On older coaches the repair cost sometimes exceeds what the vehicle is worth, and pouring a generator overhaul into a unit with a failing control board and corroded harness means paying twice. We measure, assess and tell you what we find, including when the honest answer is that the money is better spent elsewhere or that the vehicle is a total.
