RV and Fleet Detailing and Reconditioning
About 10 min left
OCRV Center performs full interior and exterior detailing, oxidation removal, headlight restoration and pre sale reconditioning on recreational vehicles and fleet units. Detail work runs $500 for a standard service to $2,500 for full reconditioning on a large coach.
Detailing on a 38 foot coach is a different job from detailing a car, and not only because of the surface area. The roof has to be cleaned without damaging the membrane. The sidewalls carry oxidation and black streaking that a wash will not touch. The interior has soft goods that have absorbed years of enclosed heat.
Done properly it takes a day or more, and the difference in outcome between that and a two hour wash is not subtle.
Exterior Wash, Decontamination and Oxidation
Black streaking down the sidewalls is oxidized EPDM roof membrane that rain has carried down, and it does not come off with soap. It requires a dedicated streak remover and mechanical agitation, and on badly neglected coaches it requires compounding.
Surface decontamination removes embedded contaminants that washing leaves behind, including road tar, rail dust and overspray. That step is what makes the difference between a coach that feels smooth afterward and one that still feels gritty.
Roof Cleaning Without Damaging the Membrane
The roof is where most damage from careless detailing happens. High pressure washing lifts EPDM seams and drives water past sealant that was doing its job. Harsh alkaline cleaners degrade the membrane surface and accelerate chalking.
We clean roofs with membrane appropriate products at low pressure, and we inspect every penetration while we are up there, which frequently turns a detail into an early warning that a sealant is about to fail.
Headlight and Lens Restoration
Oxidized headlight lenses on coaches and fleet vehicles reduce light output substantially, which is a genuine safety issue rather than a cosmetic one.
Restoration involves wet sanding through progressive grits, polishing, and applying a ultraviolet protective coating. Without that final coating the lens re oxidizes within a year, which is why cheap restoration jobs do not last.
Interior Deep Cleaning
Coach interiors accumulate in ways houses do not because they sit closed up in heat. Soft goods absorb odor, vents collect dust that then circulates, and the enclosed environment concentrates everything.
Interior work covers extraction cleaning on upholstery and carpet, hard surface cleaning, vent and duct cleaning, and treatment of odor sources rather than masking. On units that sat unused, we also inspect for evidence of rodent intrusion, which is more common in stored coaches than owners expect.
Pre Sale and Fleet Reconditioning
Reconditioning before sale is one of the few expenditures on a vehicle that reliably returns more than it costs. A coach presented clean, with restored headlights, streak free sidewalls and a fresh interior sells faster and for meaningfully more.
For fleets, reconditioning at turn in protects residual value and reduces end of lease charges. We schedule fleet reconditioning in batches so the units cycle through without taking the whole fleet off the road.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get black streaks off my RV sidewalls?
Those streaks are oxidized EPDM roof membrane that rain carried down the sidewall, and ordinary soap does nothing to them. Removal requires a dedicated streak remover with mechanical agitation, and on badly neglected coaches it takes compounding. The long term fix is addressing the roof, either by recoating the membrane or by cleaning it on a regular interval, because as long as the membrane is chalking the streaks will keep coming back.
Can you pressure wash an RV roof?
Not at high pressure, and this is where most detailing damage happens. High pressure lifts EPDM seams and drives water past sealant that was doing its job perfectly well beforehand. Harsh alkaline cleaners degrade the membrane and accelerate chalking. We clean roofs at low pressure with membrane appropriate products, and we inspect every penetration while up there, which often catches a sealant about to fail.
Is headlight restoration worth doing on an older RV?
Yes, and it is a safety item rather than a cosmetic one. Oxidized lenses scatter light and substantially reduce usable output, which matters on a vehicle that is long, heavy and slow to stop. Proper restoration means wet sanding through progressive grits, polishing, and applying an ultraviolet protective coating. That final coating is what most cheap restorations skip, and without it the lens re oxidizes within about a year.
Does reconditioning before selling an RV actually pay off?
It is one of the few vehicle expenditures that reliably returns more than it costs. A coach presented with streak free sidewalls, restored headlights and a genuinely clean interior sells faster and for meaningfully more, because buyers read presentation as an indicator of how the whole vehicle was maintained. For fleets, reconditioning at turn in protects residual value and reduces end of lease charges, and we batch that work so the whole fleet is not down at once.
